My beginning years between 2007 and 2011 has probably been the most forming time in my photography, not only because I literally took tons of pictures of all the things and sights that attracted my eye through out the day. But also because I started to constantly challenge myself with creative experiments and numerous self-assigned photo projects that led to night-long post-processing sessions and tired weekday mornings. "Learning by doing... it excessively" has always been my motto, and with the sheer unlimited forms of creative expression that the world of Photography and Digital Art includes, it wasn't any different.

The images from those first creatively free and very curious first years, in which I let myself go wild effect-wise, represent the artistic side of my photography. Although my style definitely has changed and became way more realistic, the various artworks I’ve created at that time remind me until today to stay curious, never to stop thinking outside the box and to regularly try out new and different things.

Until 2011 I’ve also been an active Flickr user, where especially in the beginning, the user feedback helped me a lot becoming better with each image.

About the Title Image
The HDR photograph of the “Vienna River” near Schoenbrunn is also the first image I’ve ever sold – unintended: In 2008 I got contacted by a nice lady from the United States, who saw the image on Flickr and wanted to hang it above her chimney. Little did I know, what this surprising experience would lead to, 10 years later…
